Recore is the first all-software optical character recognition (OCR)engine designed specifically for systems integration. Recore consists ofa high-level function library made up of over 20 functions which providesession control, image and file management, and recognition operation.Recore goes beyond conventional approaches to OCR by combining thesimplicity of omnifont (feature extraction) with Ocron's proprietarymethod of storing character information called Cross Mapping. Throughthese OCR technologies, Recore recognizes characters faster and moreaccurately than both software and most hardware-based solutions.Small code size (less than 400 KB) minimizes memory requirements andspeeds execution; SPARC system speeds typically exceed 150 characters persecond, and average accuracy approaches 100 percent. Recore 1.2 alsoreads 11 European languages.
